Detox Diet Fruit Secrets

Do you want to detox your body quickly and safely, while eating (and drinking) things that actually taste good? Your answer may very well be fruit! There are many fruits that have a naturally detoxifying effect on the body. Before I reveal some of the best detox diet fruit secrets here, let me just give you a few tips.

Fruit can be very healthy, but if your are introducing more of it into your diet you may want to do it gradually. Sometimes if you start consuming a lot of fruit when you aren’t used to it you may have a reaction, though not anything dangerous, as your digestive system gets used to the new diet.

Another thing to remember is that fruits contain sugars, though natural ones. While your body needs sugar, especially  healthy sugars such as fruit contains, you don’t want to overdo it. Some fruits, like apple, are healthy and delicious, but are especially high in sugars. If you read the ingredient labels, say in health food stores, on various juice mixes, you’ll find that almost all of them primarily contain apple. If you want to reduce the sugar level, make your own juices and use less apple, or even water as a base. When it comes to buying juices, you usually have a choice between *pure* juices and those that have added sugars, even fruit sugars like apple juice.

Finally, some fruits, such as orange, are citrus and you may want to limit how much of these you consume. The “super juices” I will be focusing on are actually less commonly used than the popular ones such as apple and orange, contain less sugar, and are higher in healthful, detoxifying properties. You can mix them up, buy them as separate supplements, or look for good brands that have already blended them.

** Blueberry -this popular and delicious fruit is very high in antioxidants and is a great detoxifier.

** Pomegranate -also very high in antioxidants.

** Noni -this is a traditional remedy from the South Pacific and contains many healthful properties. This is an example of a juice that you can buy in a pure form and, if you want, mix with sweeter fruits yourself if you want.

** Mangosteen -another recently popular fruit, this one popular in Southeast Asia for centuries.

** Acai -a Central and South American berry, very high in “healthy fats” as well as antioxidants.

** Goji – a red berry found in China, Tibet and other Asian countries. You can buy this as a juice or buy the berries (also called Wolfberries), which can be mixed in with yogurt or cereal.
